How I Think About the Therapy Process
Therapy is a process of collective story telling where we derive meaning, direction, and value through vulnerability, authenticity, and relationship. I utilize evidence-based practices, pop culture, and my nerd background in therapy. Further, My process and perspective is centered in intersectional feminism, and I recognize therapy does not exist in a vacuum; clients are nested within systems of power that impact wellness and access to care where pathology is used as a tool of oppression to offload responsibility and failings of our society onto the individual. Thus, a focus of my work is moving toward an egalitarian relationship built on earned trust and safety, operating from the view that our mutual collaborative expertise drives therapy.
Overall, healing and growth occur through safety, connection, and challenge. And although therapy is serious work, that does not make it a place bereft of levity and joy. I aim to collaborate and build relationship with clients to increase agency and efficacy, cultivate understanding, and foster authentic connection with self, others, and community.
Who I Work Best With
I work with adults (18+) through telehealth therapy and I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+, ENM, and neurodiverse communities. If you are seeking a provider to build a relationship with in a social justice space and have an interest in therapy grounded in authenticity and relationship, we may be a good match.
Specialty Training and Services
I earned my doctoral degree (PsyD) in clinical psychology through Antioch University Seattle. I offer therapy and psychological assessment and provide assessment for gender-affirming care for letters of support. My practice utilizes neurodiverse-affirming therapy and adjusts the environment to fit clients’ unique sensory processing and communication styles.
Who I am Outside of Work
I’m a queer, neurodivergent nerd and artist living in Washington with my 2 cats. I moved from Texas in 2019 and I’m overjoyed to celebrate queerness in new, wonderful ways. I’ve been an artist ever since I could hold a pencil and I enjoy creativity on canvas, in cooking, and in comedy. I spend my time pursuing knowledge, watching/playing D&D, creating art, cooking food, and playing video games. I am motivated to honor and find connection with nature, myself, and community through activism and mutual aid.
