Shon Powell, PsyD LMHC works with a range of clients experiencing difficulties with trauma to problems surrounding self-identity. Additionally, he is well versed in psychological assessment. In terms of traumatic stress, he specializes in treating military veterans who have Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Regarding identity, he focuses on working with those who struggle with racial identity, although he is comfortable working with those expeirencing other concerns around individuality. Shon treats a variety of cultural groups as well as adolescents (ages 13 years and above), adults, and older persons. His methods of therapeutic process focusing on placing clients on an equal footing with the therapist by validating the client’s account of their inner world.
